Event Details

A Dance For Grace tells the story of a group of teenagers from Marthasville, Georgia, who decide to enter a national dance contest, hoping to use the prize money to fund a life saving operation for one of their town's most beloved citizens: a woman named Grace.

Their quest leads them to their Jamaican Born dance teacher, a former drug dealer named Ricky Myers, who teaches them a reggae dancehall routine for the contest. To experience the culture and learn the dance firsthand, the group travels to the birthplace of reggae: Jamaica.

Set to the pulsating beats of Jamaican Dancehall, A Dance For Grace is an exciting, uplifting, fast moving tale of courage, redemption, community and the will to succeed against all odds!

Urban Mediamakers Association

The mission of the Urban Mediamakers  Association is to promote and support a strong diverse independent media arts community in metro-Atlanta emphasizing the work of African, Asian and Latin descent creatives. Our goal is to be a main player in the continuous movement to attain diversity in media by providing individuals with assistance with development, production, post-production, financing and distribution of independent media -- animation, film, music, print, television and video.

A 501(c)(3), tax exempt, not-for-profit, charitable organization, the Urban Mediamakers Association brings talented and aspiring creative individuals together. Guided by past wisdom and reflecting the new generation of mediamaking, we are dedicated to thinking out of the traditional box. We depend on powers beyond ourselves to provide opportunities and open doors in all facets of our lives.

Through our Young Urban Mediamakers (YUMs) program, we are partnering media professionals with youth ages 12-19 to encourage, inspire and educate them in all areas of media.
